BCMA Book Club

Join Lorenda and Leia as we read through multiple levels of UNDRIP reports to better understand the direction, goals and actions our sector is working to support. Documents like the CMA’s Moved to Action report have sought to determine the level of UNDRIP implementation that exists in the sector, but many of us have only a general understanding of what UNDRIP asks us to achieve and have not often engaged thoughtfully with the declaration. Join us every other week as we move through the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (2007), The Government of Canada’s United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act Action Plan (2023), and the Government of B.C’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act Action Plan (2022) with eight discussion sessions. For the ninth meeting, attendees are encouraged to read and share any action plans from their regional districts or municipalities to continue the learning down to a regional lens.
